GRE study test question. For all positive numbers p, the operation * is defined by p*=p+1/p. Which is larger: A. ((2/7)*)* or B. 3.5 ? The correct answer is A but I don't know how to compute the problem.

ok, if it is \(\large p*= p+ \dfrac{1}{p}\) you got 4.049 > 3.5 . Matching the method is exactly what I give you above.
