Your username is used as an identity for nearly every aspect of your profile. There are complications with changing an ID. Sure, an administrator could easily change it - but that minor change would corrupt a lot of your data, medals, messages - nearly everything, your profile would be useless.

It would require an administrator to change every action you've made, and substitute your new username in place for your old one, if your profile is to function properly. This is a painstaking task that, depending on your activity, can takes months and years.

A username has never been changed - never have the circumstances been presented. Administrators advise you to create a new account if you don't like your username.
