Complex solutions-what am I doing wrong?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

One is the website where I electronically submit my homework, the other is wolfram. I did not, I repeat, did not just copy the answer. I have it worked on my desk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm guessing it's because they said \(a + bi\) and you essentially wrote it as \(c(a + bi)\). Which isn't actually wrong but a computer blindly comparing answers would say it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it just being picky and you have to put it in as \[9/2 - i(sqrt3)/2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yah

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

So \[\frac{ 9 }{ 2 }-\frac{ i \sqrt{3} }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

and its positive friend also?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure I was following you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or \(\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}i\) for the truly pedantic software.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That'd be right ridiculous :P

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome ^^
