-6x+9=-21 plz last question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-9 both sides and divide by 6 on both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you need to get the 9 to the other side, do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this I my last question but I have to do more questions next in a different lesson

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this one you would minus nine from the side of the x and minus it from the other side as well -6x-9=-21 -9 -9 so with this first step you should have -6x=-15 do you know what to do from there? Pretty much with these you want to move all of the numbers from the side with the x to the other side of the =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the answer is x=-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, with the -6x you would need to do something different. -6x is really -6*x so to cancel out a multiply you would need to divide. So you would divide -15 by -6
