In Python Shell 2.6; I can't seem to type in "else" without getting a syntax error message. Does anyone have an explanation?

Ah, this is one you need too keep an eye on! It is very easy to miss out a colon or bracket, and suddenly the whole thing is incorrect! Make sure you have double checked any nested brackets, if this fails then screen print it and post on here! I will have a look through and see what isn't correct :)

Also, this is where working in a file and just runing it through the shell can help. An IDE is best, even IDLE, because it can give you more clues and you can see line numbers that help you track down where the problems are.
