factor each completely. 7x^2-31x-20 7X^2-45X-28 i must find the greatest common factor PLEASE HELP!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so for the first one, a factor of 30 is 5 & 6 (of course there are more). So then just arrange where times by 7 would help make you equal to 31. So it would be (7x+4)(x-5). Do you think you can do the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK so it would be like 7(x^2-5x-4)???? im not sure if thats how to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No you cant take out the 7 out of the whole thing because 30 and 31 is not divisible by 7. I just paired the 7 with one of the x's.

okay i see now
