-5 + x/3 = 20

Ok so let me write the equation here:\[-5+\frac{ x }{ 3 }=20\] So I am going to multiply the whole equation by 3:\[-15+x=60\] See i multiplied every term by 3 to get rid of the x/3 Now I add 15 to both sides:\[x=75\] You get x=75 I call this technique "fraction busting" because you bust he x/3 fraction in it by multiplying by 3. So whenever you see a variable over a number multiply the whole equation by that number.
