OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

well actually lol im white and Hispanic , but i dont think bad about them. Their humans 2 and whites need to respect that we need to share this world with them even if we have different colors we are still humans. And mostly people now and days are not racists but some are. Im not :)

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

like I said most blacks had hard times because of the KKK but now i dont even hear about them

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

hope my opinion helped u @darkknight321 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what specific stereotype do most white have to the black ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay this should be easy: Putting your mind into a Southern-Republican-Racist, they might think of them as trouble-makers, dangerous (most racism comes from fear), dirty, uneducated, (don't know what the real word is) but hating them for being alien or not from that land (even though whites came from Europe -_-) --NOT MY OPINION, I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE--

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's all I can think of :P

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

do u mean for the like now and days or like martin luther king times?

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

nice job @Dragan96

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the US do racism happen more in the southern part ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Very much. and thanks @UsArmy3947

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

i agree cause in the southern part there are Spanish people and most are tan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it's mainly because of the same people from the Reconstruction Era, the people in the South supported slavery, therefore most of them still wanting slavery and not caring for the blacks. And the North was mainly into supporting the blacks as well as immigrants later in the Gilded Age.

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

do u need any more help @darkknight321 ? :)

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

Now we have another guest who has a very interesting perspective on what we just talked about. He says that a lot of racist behavior may stem from the belief held by many white people that African-Americans do not actually feel as much pain. Jason Silverstein looked into what he calls the racial empathy gap as part of his work with Harvard's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African-American Research. He wrote about this in the recent Slate article "I Don't Feel Your Pain," and he's with us now. Welcome. Thank you so much for joining us. :) Hope that helped!

It depend on a person's upbringing or beliefs. I personally am not racists and have a few mixed friends.
