. Which chemical equation best illustrates the Law of Conservation of Mass? 2H2O = H2 + O2 CH4 + 3O2 = CO2 + 2H2O Al4C3 + 3H2O = CH4 + 4Al(OH)3 Zn + 2HCl = ZnCl2 + H2 Could you help explain?

Which one hás the same number of each element on each side?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

For example, the first reaction has 4 Hydrogen atoms and 2 Oxygen atoms as reactants, but 2 Hydrogens and 2 Oxygens as products. Since the numbers are not the same, the mass is not conserved.

So all you have to do is see if the amount of the element is the same on each side?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Yup
