A blue-collar worker is a working class person who performs manual labor. Blue-collar work may involve skilled or unskilled, manufacturing, mining, oil field, construction, mechanical, maintenance, technical installation and many other types of physical work. Often something is physically being built or maintained. A service economy is mainly based on trade. Trade services and this type of labor go together perfectly.
