D)
President Wilson hoped that the League of Nation would be a place where nations could talk out their problems and solve their differences in a calm, peaceful manner. The USA voted to stay out of the League of Nations, and it proved worthless when Japan invaded China in the 1930s, setting the stage for WWII. The follow up organization, the United Nations, has not prevented all wars since 1945, but, it was there to defend South Korea, when it was invaded in 1950. It has done a lot of good, and helped to prevent WWIII. Considering what the UN has and has not done since the end of WWII, I think that the League of Nations might have worked, if it had been given a chance.
