in order to make the coefficients easier to work with, first multiply each term of the equation or divide each term of the equation by a number selected by inspection. Then proceed with the solution of the system by an appropriate algebraic method. 40s-30t=60 20s-40t=-50 i got for t=120 and for s 91.5 did i do this right?

@zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So it might help to notice that the both the top and bottom equation are divisible by 10, so let's divide a 10 out of everything giving us, \[\Large 4s-3t=6\]\[\Large 2s-4t=-5\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

You got 120 for t? Hmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes at first i did but when i did it again i gott=3.2 qnd s=3.9 is that right?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh that's what I got also, yay good job! \c:/

lol thanks
