Algebra help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ask away.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hang on! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am hanging

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also are you good with geomrty?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ask anything, and see if I can do it, test me will see how much I am worth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B&C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find to points on the line, and plug them into a slope formula. Do you know what the slope formula is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad, (4,3) and (8,6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{3-6}{4-8}=slope\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{3}{4}=slope\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

were my answers rite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So according to your graph y coordinate is $, and Euro is the x coordinat so B and C, are true. See why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B A C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you asking to check your work? and your answers are B A C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do u give answers??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not on this website, the user are not allowed to give plain answers for math problems, unless they are 1+1 type of thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, well can you check my work and see if i got them right? and ym answers are B A C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup! All are correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would right this as 10+2/5m m= number of minutes. I don't think your choices are correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looking at the graph you can see that 50 minutes cost 20$, and 100 minutes cost 30$ so I think I was incorrect, but from the above statement, what conclusion can you make?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was confused, b/c each x unit is 10, and y unit is 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be .20?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10+1/5m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b/c for each 25 minutes it is 5 bucks, so 5/25=.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one it B, you can see that if you look at .30=1 → 30=100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why d? your graph represents a line if you try to write the equation of your problem in y=mx+b form you will see why it is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait so i had it right first time. it was A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this case, there is no extra fee, just a cost of call per minute, therefore in your equation the variation of x to y is direct, in other words no y intercept, or y intercept=0 so $30=100 you can put this as 100y=30x, correct? so divide both sides by 100, .... y=.30x or more correctly, mathematically, y=.3x so the variation k, or the slope is .3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! Do you see why though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B? yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think C, why? Because in your equation the y intercept is 2000, slope is 500 so, y=500x+2000 Now, what does the x on the graph represent the number of months so it is 500. Another way to explain this, is just to simply look at the graph, it is increasing every unit by, 1 month and 500 miles. See?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C? and yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup!
