Try writing an equation that represents the situation. Let's call "the number", x. 12% means .12 12% of a number is .12 times x or .12x So Thirty is 12% of what number translates into the equation 30 = .12x Agree?????
to solve the question replace ( 12/100 ) * X = 30 X is the number you look for 12% = 12/100
