Write an indirect proof. Given: Triangle XYZ is isosceles. Prove: Neither base angle is a right triangle. 1. What is the first step in writing an indirect proof? 2. Write the first step for this indirect proof. 3. What is the second step in writing an indirect proof? 4. Find the contradiction. a. How are the base angle measures of an isosceles triangle related? b. What must be the measure of each base angle? c. What is the sum of the angle measures in a triangle?
Someone please help, this is due by the end of the day and I have no clue what I am doing.
In an indirect proof, you assume the negation. So in this problem, you assume that a base angle is a right angle. Then show that "that can't be"..which leads to a contradiction, Therefore, neither base angle is a right angle.
I got you started or refreshed your memory..Now, you have to answer the questions.
I am still so confused. I googled that and actually got that far, I answered the first question but I don`t know what to write for the second, with writing the actual first step.
Someone help please!
