what is the remainder when x^2+5 is divided by x+1

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Try using synthetic division

Idk how to do synthetic division with this question

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

just use the remainder theorem which means is x + 1 = 0 then substitute x = -1 and you'll get the remainer f(-1) = (-1)^2 + 5 and the remainder will be a value or a value/(x + 1) hope this helps

It did thanks you!
