how to solve a 2 part polynomial equation. x^3 - 1000=0

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

\[x^{3}-y^{3} = (x-y)(x^{2}+xy+y^{2})\] use that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please explain so I can explain to my daughter. Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is for high school algebra 2

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Alright, x is the number you will have to multiply by it self 3 times to get 1000. What is that number? it's simply 10. So change x to 10 in that polynomial to show that its really equal to zero. That's it.

my daughter still doesnt understand. I am going to put her on with you.
