does anyone know how to model this function rule y=2x squared -8 with a table of values and graph?

When you mean table of values, do you just mean x and y table?

yes @hwtrain

So if its \[y=2x ^{2}-8\] First, since it has a x^2, you know its a quadratic (parabola). So when doing the table you could do|dw:1383265761872:dw| The reason I do x = -2 to 2 is because a parabola goes upwards both ways. So plug in the x-value and find the y-value's. Then plot the coordinates on to a graph.
