More than 100 years after Akbar's death, the Mughal Empire began to fall apart. What were two of the reasons that caused this to happen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two reasons that contributed to its fall were: 1) A succession of weak rulers 2) A growing inability to fend off foreign invaders partly due to internal strife caused by infighting among the nobles. Further divisions within the empire weakened it even more, eventually leaving India vulnerable to others such the British Empire. In short, as one person put it, they were great conquerors but terrible administrators.

OpenStudy (nurali):

1. Wars broke out and people were dieing 2. Resources were becoming too low and nothing could be done to get them back
