OpenStudy (phi):

Three added to 4 times a number is equal to 5 less than 6 times the number. Three added to --> 3 + 4 times a number --> 4*x (x is the unknown number) is equal to ---> = 5 less than ---> -5 + (this one is tricky) 6 times the number. ---> 6x all together we have 3+ 4x = -5+6x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -8

OpenStudy (phi):

can you solve 3+ 4x = -5+6x ? As a first step, I would add -4x to both sides
