A copper pellet fired out of an air rifle will travel at about 500 feet per second. The photo at the right is of a water balloon that was shot with one such pellet. A high speed flash for a camera must be set to go off within a very precise time after the air rifle is fired. The air rifle is set up 8 feet from the closest edge of the balloon. Write an equation (use d=r*t or a proportion) and solve for how long after the pellet is fired it will hit the balloon.
