2. Determine which ordered pair in the form (a, b) is a solution of the given equation. 3a – 4b = 21
SO do you know how to do this? And do you have any answer choices?
(–2, –3) (0, 7) (7, 0) (–3, –2)
these are the answer choices and no im confused
So substitute the first set of values in for a and b like this 3(-2) - 4 (-3) =21 and then multiply the 3 and the -2 and the 4 and -3 together and figure it out. I know the answer to this problem but i want you to figure it out
oooookk
rolls eyes)
Do you sort of understand it now?
kinda i gess
Well ill help you as much as i can without giving you the answer directly
ok what i need you to do is just help me step by step instead of writing all in one thing or else i get really buzzled
Okay write this down> 3 (-2) -4(-3) = 21
ok got it
This basically means that you need to multiply 3 by -2 and 4 by -3
So do that and then tell me when you are done with that step
ugh ok 3x4 i got 6 then the other one i got 12 am i doing this right?
No what you do is multiply 3 by negative 2 and 4 by negative 3
i did but it said what i got if that makes since at all
So 3 multiplied by negative 2 is negative 6 4 multiplied by negative3 is negative 12
math is the worst thing invented
ya
Now add negative 6 to negative 12 and what do you get? You can use a calculator
i got 18
or 72
Its negative 18
oh ok o i got it awsome
ok so how what is the answer then this is so weird
Ill tell you the answer is (7,0) but you have to figure out why. do the same steps that we just did.
ok ill try i guess
Okay good luck
thanks for helping me and taking time out of your day to help me lol thanks
