Why did we get rid of the Articles Of Confederation?

OpenStudy (lulubj):

It did not work well and hold the states together as well as it needed to. The Articles of Confederation created a weak central government. The government had no power and was not as well organized as it is now. The legislative branch had only one house. Congress don't have the power to levy taxes. This resulted in a poor nation. Furthermore, Congress could not regulate trade. This caused problems between states. There was also no executive branch in the Articles. So, there was no way to enforce the laws Congress passed. there were no national courts.
