2 + 4xy + 8x + 10 – 3x + 5y a. Rewrite the expression so that like terms are grouped together. b. Simplify the expression

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

4xy + 5x + 5y + 12 ^_^ you group the terms together, and the numbers together :) meaning, 10 and 2 would go together, 8x and 3x would go together, 5y and 4xy would stay as they are, since they don't have a like term ^_^

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

is for part a ^_^

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

oh wait that's for part b XD

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

for part a it would be 4xy + 8x - 3x + 5y + 10 + 2 ^_^ part b would be 4xy + 5x + 5y + 12, as stated before :D you group the terms together, and the numbers together. Meaning, 10 and 2 would go together, 8x and 3x would go together, 5y and 4xy would stay as they are, since they don't have a like term ^_^
