Can someone explain how to do this please?
Miguel is designing shipping boxes that are rectangular prisms. the shape of one box with height h in feet, has a volume defined by the function V(h)=h(h-10)(h-8). What is the maximum volume for the domain 0
If the height has to be less than 10, that's going to make your other dimensions negative. h - 10 and h - 8 will both be negative. Something seems not right here.
You can maximize that function though. 2 questions: 1. Is this a calculus class? 2. Can you use a graphing calculator?
It's Algebra 2 and i don't have one
Then I don't see how you could possibly do this problem. Sorry!
If you graph it, you get this: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=maximize+y+%3D+x%28x-10%29%28x-8%29+from+0+to+10 And the only way you can find the top of that curve is via calculus or via a graphing calculator
