2a(a – 5) + 4(a – 5) simplify expression

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a-5)(2a+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its already simplified :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like treating a-5 as a pronumeral lets say we say a-5= x so the expression would be 2ax+4x so u can pull x to the front x(2a+4) then we put a-5 back into the equation hence (a-5)(2a+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok we don't have to use the distributive property? like times 2a by the rest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol oops! Yes you have to use the distributive propery to simply the equation out. Do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ty
