We already have our own tradition in place which was being formed by our ancestors with great care and considering many factors into consideration to live a happy and fulfilling life. 
Foreign traditions are different from ours, some might seem to be better than ours in some respects but that does not mean we follow them only for those some points. 
So, my opinion is that we just follow our tradition, and believe in them :)

matter of choice ... I did not follow that could be called mine, there's no way I would follow someone. Just a random guy!! Don't tag me in English section.

I agree with Hartnn, we should follow our tradition no matter where we are and we cant separate ourselves from them no matter how hard we try, but yet at the same time we can keep balance in our traditions and the place we live in:)
