Sung needs to memorize words on a vocabulary list for Spanish class. He has memorized 12 of the words, which is two-thirds of the list. How many words are on the list?

We can call the total number of words x, since that is what we're really looking for. So 12=2/3x because 12 is two-thirds the total number of the list. So divide 12 by 2/3 which is really 12(3/2) and you will get 18!

There is a method. Knowing part to find whole, you can use this: \[part \div \frac{ part }{ whole }=whole\]. Now can you find the answer?
