jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Given the derivative rule for the absolute value function \[\frac{ d }{ dx } [|x|] = \frac{ x }{ |x| }\] determine the derivative of \[\frac{ d }{ dx } [|4x ^{2}-9x+2|]\] so far I got \[\frac{ (x-2)(4x-1)(8x-9) }{ |(x-2)(4x-1)| }\] can this be simplified down more? if so, how?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I know i good guy here @hartnn Hopefully he can help u :D

hartnn (hartnn):

i think thats simplified nicely :) all you can do is to use \(\large |a|=\sqrt {a^2}\) for the denominator. but thats just writing in another form, not simplification.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

okay, thank you! :)

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
