Please help...

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

It takes a total of 6 hours to fill up an in ground backyard pool using a standard hose. A function can represent this situation to represent the amount of water in the pool until it is full as a function of the time the hose is running. Determine the domain for this function. The domain is all integers from 0 to 6 hours. The domain is all even integers from 0 to 6 hours. The domain is all real numbers from 0 to 6 hours. The domain is all positive real numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you're continuously filling the pool for 6 hours, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you want to be able to determine the exact amount of water in the pool at any given time, right?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

right

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I think its the third one!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So have to be able to figure out the time at, say, the 1 hour, 2 hour, or even 3.47 hour marks, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup, you got it--you're definitely dealing with the REALS and since you only care about the amount of water in the pool until it is full, it's not "D".

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Thanks man!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Though, you still COULD create a function with the domain over the reals--which is increasing until x=6 and then flat...
