I'm writing an essay and I'm not sure what the correct punctuation would be for the quotes I'm using. This is the sentence: He also measured the students by having them take a "self-efficacy survey", "body composition", and "physical and sedentary behaviors interview." Is my punctuation correct in accordance with MLA format? Can I simply keep the list in one set of quotation marks even though the commas are not part of the original quotation? Does the period at the end of the sentence go inside the quotation marks or outside?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Yes, it is. I use MLA all the time in English 3 AP, and I've never been marked off.

OpenStudy (idku):

I am not good at English, but I think a usual structure should look like "c", "b" and "a" without a comma between "b" and "a" How would it be different in terms of punctuation if you are using MLA or not?
