The solar power uses the panels to absorb the sun's energy, so here imagine the leaf as the panel and the cells in the leaf as the panel's cells, and the leaf is absorbing the light energy from the sun. The energy absorbed by the solar panels is used to generate electricity, in the same way, the leaves absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide to make glucose and oxygen ( which is basically the electricity in the example given above ).
