Adrienne had a party at a local skating rink. She spent one hundred dollars for a party room and eight dollars per person for skates. Let c be the total cost of the room and skates, and let f be the number of friends at her party. Write an equation to represent the problem. Which is the independent variable? Explain.
im only looking at this question because of one direction and why arent you constantly replaying soml?
lol and what?
i love soml and i am!
the indepedent variable is the $100 for a party room because that is a fixed number, the skates is dependent on the number of people attending.
can you write the equation please and i was thinking the independent variable would be f
C=8f +100
Independent variable is the # of friends, f.
100 is the constant.
regardless of how many friends that come, there's a constant charge of $100.
so the independent variable is f and what is the equation?
C = 8f + 100
why would it be f though can you explain. @Easyaspi314
C is the cost of the party. The cost, C, depends on the # of friends, f, show up at the party. So C depends on f. So C is called the dependent variable, and C, depends on f. f, the # of friends is the independent variable, as it doesnt depend on anything.
