Hi, I know this belongs in writing or english, but they are seemingly inactive (no responses that I have seen) and I know that History majors have to write papers. I need to know how to do research. I have access to my university's online library. I am doing an annotated bibliography

I can, but at least half must come from scholarly articles (I can use google scholar too). I am trying to do something on "Do businesses reduce poverty in recessionary times), but I don't even know how to begin the research

Google is not something you would use as a source for a college article. Neither is Wikipedia. Your university s library should have everything you need. What is it you are researching?

I guess my whole project, in the end, will be to come up with a way to reduce poverty for a city. Before I can do that, I need to write a research paper on poverty reduction. I am trying to ask the question "Are businesses reducing poverty?" kind of like "Does Reaganomics work?" The problem I am having is I don't really know how to use an academic search to find this information. I think that my topic may be too specific.
