Whats the vertex, axis of symmetry, min/max, domain and range of: y=0.0035(x+1)^2-1 and y=(x-125)^2+125

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

the vertex in a quadratic function of the form a(x-p)^2+q is (p,q)

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

So its just the OPPOSITE of the number next to the x in brackets for p, and the last number for q.

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

The axis of symmetry is x=q, so basically whatever q is

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

the min/max is the p value, if a is positive, it will have a min, if a is negative it will have a maximum

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

domain is always negative infinity to infinity

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

If your a value is negative, and you have a maximum, your range will be negative infinity up to your q value

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

If its positive, it will be from your q value up to infinity

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

Hope this helps!
