A cyclist rides his bike at a speed of 27 miles per hour. What is this speed in feet per second? How many feet will the cyclist travel in 10 seconds? In your computations, use the fact that 1 mile is equal to 5280 feet. Do not round your answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Okay! Good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is another one

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

I was going to show you how to get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would appreciate if you help me with it

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A car is traveling at a rate of 44 feet per second. What is the car's rate in miles per hour? How many miles will the car travel in 2 hours? In your computations, use the fact that 1 mile is equal to 5280 feet. Do not round your answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its timed

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Okay, so 1 mile = 5,280 feet. So 44 feet per second = that it will take 2 minutes to go one entire mile. So in 60 minutes he will go 30 miles in total. Therefore in 2 hours he would of gone 60 miles. Therefore he goes 30 miles per hour and 60 miles in 2 hours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Here's how I got the answer: 5,280 divided by 44 = 120 seconds Therefore: 120 / 60 = 2 Minutes Which means that in 2 minutes he goes 1 mile: 5,280 / 2 = 2,640 Feet Per Hour Therefore: You should be able to figure out the rest.

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Also I made a mistake so please review on how I got the answer to get the correct answer.

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Sorry about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright ill save for future reference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but can you help me with another questions

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Wait oops, actually I was wrong with the review.

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Sorry, yes I can help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i opened a new question so you can get medal

OpenStudy (ghostgate):
