How did the Byzantine Empire form?
In the 3rd Century AD, the Roman Empire was divided into two halves, East and West. The Roman Emperor Constantine founded and built up the city of Constantinople as the Eastern capital of the Empire. The Western half of the Roman empire crumbled and eventually fell apart in AD 476. But the Eastern half kept going for nearly 1000 more years as the Byzantine Empire.
The years i couldnt remember so i got them from somewhere else
Yep Eastern part of Roman Empire ruled from Byzantium
Great!
Why did they split again?
The empires growth was becoming too much for one ruler, so they split into two (Eastern and Western) so that they could watch over the public/Empire more efficiently.
What ruler was that?
Was it only because of overgrowth?
The eastern was ruled by Constantine hense Constantinople. The western i dont remember.
And yea... it was pretty much because of overgrowth... When i say overgrowth it wasnt just population wise it was because the Roman Empire was conquering so much land extremely fast!
That make more sense?
