How do you determine the possible values of x in a triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@16jackta have you got any diagram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

depends on what x represents and what other facts they give to you

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the sum of the angles in a triangles is 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It gives me 2x+22, x+5, and 5x-7. Do I add them together?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

are they the three angles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yes, then add them up and set = to 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then solve for x and go back to figure each angle using your x value in place of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=20
