Find the sum of: 5ab + bc - 3ca, ab - bc + ca and -ab + 2ca + ba I'm confused with "-ab + 2ca + ba". When I add it on, can I do this: ...ca + - (ab + 2ca + ba)?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Not for a sum.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show me what it would look like? And when would I do that then?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Adding polynomials is like adding real numbers, This question is asking for a sum, so add each term of the polynomial.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When would we use the method I used?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

I will show you that after you add: 5ab + bc - 3ca, ab - bc + ca and -ab + 2ca + ba

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5ab + bc
