I need to figure out how to subtract a number that has a label of centimeters squared from a number that has a label of centimeters cubed.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you can't they are different measurements....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay maybe I should try a different approach to the problem.

I've been given the volume of a right cylinder: 245pi cm cubed, and I'm trying to find the length of the cylinder. The radius is 5cm.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well this is what you need to know for volume of a right prism or cylinder. Volume = Base Area x Height so you need to divide the volume by the area of the circle, radius 5 cm to find the height, or length of the cylinder

Riiiiight I just realized I was trying to solve it for surface area for some reason. Thank you for your time you were very helpful!!!!
