I got
8x|2xy|12y|4y But I dont know if I should add or subtract..

when you multiply, you get
8x^2-2xy-12xy+3y^2
combine like terms
-2xy-12xy= -14xy
then bring down the other 2
8x^2-14xy+3y^2
