I have to write my own 'Declaration of Independence'.

It can be about anything. (Declaring Independence from my mother, boyfriend, parents, siblings, ect.)

It can be silly, (saying you hate her cooking, ect..) but still professional.

Can anybody steer me in the right way here? Thanks..

Basically the Declaration of Independence is about removal of an oppression.  For any removal of an oppression one must truly identify it and state its characteristics.  This is what AA, NA and any other recovery group does, because if you can't recognize and identify ones problem you'll never be rid of it.  This generally entails an evaluation of ones life and what has definitely had a negative effect on you and you on others.  Then you'll understand why the Declaration ends with "we mutually pledge to each other out Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor".  I out of my personal religious beliefs would leave out pledge but place it my Lords hands.
