A pair of tickets to a hockey game cost $85.00. If the sales tax is 6%, what is the total price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you figure out what the tax on the tickets is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.06

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the tax percentage. But how much money is the tax on the tickets? Do you know how to figure that out?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So what you have....is the initial price...+ 6% of that same initial price...so 85 + (85 * .06) = ??
