Solve the recurrence relation for the variables indicated below: bn = 8bn-1 - 15bn-2 b1 = 2 b2 = 16 If the explicit formula for the sequence is written in the form bn = u(s1)n + v(s2)n then find s1 and s2 . anyone? pretty please?

uh.. yea... that's kinda the question.... cause the answer isn't there....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my bad sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(i tried googling it too :D )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does this help en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/recurrence_relation#solving

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really... I need someone to guide me through it.... it's a discrete math problem and I can't figure it out...

I ended up finding S1 = 3, S2 = 5. a little more math leads to U1 = -1 and U2 = 1. those are the answers. done. closing question now.
