A company producing steel construction bars uses the function C(x) = 0.02x2-3.4x+150 to model the unit cost in dollars for producing x bars. For what number of bars is the cost at a minimum? What is the unit cost at that level of production? I got a minimum cost of $5.50 when 85 bars are sold, but that just doesn't seem correct just wanted to verify

OpenStudy (camper4834):

That is the correct answer. When you make the bars in bulk it costs significantly less. So instead of it costing around $150 to make just 1, it costs $5.50 each when you have made 85
