I am trying to do the problems in 6.01, but get a "Bad magic number" error for the sm.pyc import file. I am running Python 2.7, but the class was built for 2.6, which is what I think is causing the problem. Is there a work around for this, or do I need to download Python 2.6 to do the homework for this class?

I was getting a Bad Magic Number error, too, while running2.7. I downloaded 2.6.7, and no more Bad Magic Number error! If you try to get 2.6.9, you can only find a tarball file (.tar), but a Windows Installer for 2.6.7 can be found here: http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6/
