On a hexahedral die, there are 6 outcomes for the one die. For 2, there are 6^2 or 36 outcomes. For 3, there are 6^3 or 216 outcomes. Intuitively, it seems to be that for a die of 10 faces, tossed 5 times, the sample space would contain 10^5 possibilities.
