Alright, so here's a dual post, meaning that this post serves two purposes (I'm actually just too lazy to make another one :P) Questions written in thread

Poll question: who do you think was more influential, Karl Marx or Adolf Hitler. Why?

So its just some things involving my family and whatnot, my Dad is having his last name changed (it was originally his father's, but now its his mother's) so I'm getting a new last name because of my dad.

oh and also, why do you think that Hitler was the most influential? ( I mean, I totally agree, just explain why. It's for a poll in my history class my teacher asked me to take )

Actually, if you think of how Communism has had such an impact - the Russian revolution took out the Czar dynasty. And spread all over the world. And made America nervous for such a long time... I'd say Marx had a greater impact.

I am going to say Marx. The theories of Hitler were very influential in his time, but the main lasting legacy is being on the lookout for a new Hitler so they can be squashed early. Marx, as Preetha points out, is linked to Communism, but Communism was not his idea. Marx's teachings were warped by Lennon, Stalin, Mao, and others. Many of Marx's other teachings are still used today in the USA. Marx is a large source of psychological and sociological theory. While a great deal of his ideas have been discredited, any sort of long term benefits from a business, health care for workers, labor being involved in management, and so on can all be linked back to Marx as one of the starting points or heavy influences. Quite frankly, the ideals of Karl Marx are a reality of every day life in many countries, as opposed to Hitler, who is largely as a subject of history in comparison.

Thanks for your input guys….I asked other people too, and it always helps to have the input of such educated uber smart people xD thanks you guys, good reasoning too! Personally i had been comparing the influence within specific time periods only. But now that I really think about it, Marx had the lasting legacy that still impacts the world today.
