Car A is traveling 50 miles every hour, and car B is traveling 40 miles every hour. Add the two together, and you get a distance of 90 (more) miles apart every hour. Since the question asks how long it takes to get the cars 360 miles apart, you just divide 360 by 90, which gets you 4 hours (choice a).
