The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 34 units. if the legs each measure 2 units more than the base. what is the measure of each side of the triangle ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let b = length of the base so the other two sides are b+2 units long (because " the legs each measure 2 units more than the base")

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

add up the 3 sides to get b + (b+2) + (b+2) = 34 now solve for b, then use this to find the lengths of the 3 sides
